Though fact, Seabiscuit was a very laid-back horse. It was often said that he looked sleepy as he made his way to the starting gates.
The famous match race between Seabiscuit and War Admiral was originally scheduled to be run on October 30, 1937, but the Seabiscuit was scratched from the meeting due to heavy rains. The match race took place the following year on November 1, 1938. Most experts assumed that War Admiral would outrun Seabiscuit, as he had done to his other opponents. But Seabiscuit defeated Triple Crown champ War Admiral by four lengths in a match race at Pimlico in Baltimore.
