Taking inspiration from the WW2 U.S. winter combat uniform: 2nd pattern of tanker jackets, a highly satisfactory item, particularly for tank crews. In the ETO, it wasn’t issued only for armored units but also worn as a flight jacket due to a lack of winter equipment supplies. Its thermal protection and ease of wearing made it a favorite among all troops.
Commonly sought and worn by officers and senior generals such as Eisenhower, Patton, and Ridgeway. Also worn by Robert De Niro in the well-known post-war movie, Taxi Driver.
Chaffee Tanker Jacket has made from 100% cotton twill for the outer shell. We replaced the wool with polar fleece. It’s warmer, softer, and breathes better than the wool lining of the originals. It features a YKK zipper with genuine leather attached.
