Heavily influenced by the 1st pattern of jungle fatigues, the 1st Pattern Jungle Fatigue Jacket (officially designated as the Coat, Man’s, Combat, Tropical) was introduced by the U.S. military in June 1963 for troops and advisors deployed during the early stages of the Vietnam War.
As you can see, it features slanted pockets, exposed buttons, and shoulder epaulets. U.S. soldiers wore it during the early days of the Vietnam War. It is a great layering piece because it is made from 100% cotton, is light yet sturdy, and dries quickly, staying very close to the original design.
